Formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2007, Saffire have spent nearly two decades developing their own take on melodic hard rock and heavy metal. Combining powerful riffs, soaring vocals, memorable melodies and a darker edge, the band blends the spirit of classic hard rock with a modern, hard-hitting sound.
Saffire released their debut album, From Ashes to Fire, in 2013, followed by For the Greater Good in 2015, Where the Monsters Dwell in 2018 and Taming the Hurricane in 2022. Across these releases, the band have continued to refine their distinctive mix of classic hard rock influences, heavy grooves and melodic songwriting.
The band’s line-up brings together musicians with experience from some of Sweden’s established rock acts. Drummer Efraim Larsson is known for his work with both Hardcore Superstar and Gathering of Kings, while guitarist Victor Olsson, vocalist Tobias Jansson and keyboardist Dino Zuzic are also associated with Gathering of Kings. This shared experience brings together a wealth of musical influences and a strong foundation in the Swedish hard rock and melodic rock scene.
Over the years, Saffire have performed at festivals including Sweden Rock Festival, Sabaton Open Air and Skogsröjet, bringing their energetic live show to rock audiences in Sweden and beyond.
With Last Man Down, Saffire take their signature blend of melodic hard rock and heavy metal to a new level. Combining the band’s classic sound with a fresh, contemporary edge, the album marks a natural evolution of their musical identity.
Written, produced and mixed by guitarist Victor Olsson at North Island Studios, the album explores themes spanning our present, past and future, weaving stories about the world we live in and the forces shaping what lies ahead.
Last Man Down is Saffire at their most focused and ambitious: classic hard rock, redefined with power, melody and purpose.
