Alicate
Alicate Alicate was formed in the late eighties by lead vocalist/guitarist Jonas Erixon and bass player Fredrik Ekberg. They released a 7” single called “The End/Too Shy To Take It” which is a collectors piece today. They toured in Sweden and Finland and also supported Ian Gillan on his „Toolbox Tour“ in 1992. During the mid-nineties the band was put on ice. Fast forward to 2006, where the Alicate reformed and started to work on new material that resulted in their first full length album called “World Of Anger” (released in 2009). The same year they did a successful appearance at Sweden rock festival. The success of this album and the popularity of their concerts, led to the release of their second album, “Free Falling” in 2013. Their third Full length album, “Unforgiven To Be Forgiven”, followed in 2018 together with a Live EP called “Live At Forum”. The creativity was reaching soaring levels when Covid sadly hit the world and put the progress on hold for the band. However, Jonas Erixon still wrote songs and collaborated with some high profile artists and wrote/co-wrote songs for Giant, Skills (with Billy Sheehan and Brad Gillis) and Sweet Oblivion (Geoff Tate). During the Pandemic, work also started on new material for Alicate. The band looked for a natural progression from their previous heavy album that would result in a more melodic version of the group, adding even more hooks to the songs. The result was the most successful album to date „Butterfly“ (released 2022 via Pride & Joy Music). The Swedish quartet quickly started recording their next release in the same vein. The result is their new album called „Heaven tonight“ (2024) that was recorded and mixed in Spjutseroad Studios and Blind Mans Aim Studios which will now be released again on Pride & Joy Music on April 19th, 2024. Oz Hawe Petersson’s Rendezvous Oz Hawe Petersson’s Rendezvous is a rock project featuring Osukaru guitarist Oz Hawe Petersson and keyboard player Mathias Rosén, both once part of the short-lived band Eye (Sweden) which folded back in 2010. With many more stories to tell, Oz and Mathias kept on writing songs together. Yet due to hectic schedules on both ends, they were in no rush to find a proper home for them – not until the year 2021. Osukaru would release their most successful album to date with „Starbound“ but with the world still on hiatus back then, there were no shows lined up just yet. Oz took the time off to once again reach out to Mathias and work on new songs. It was finally time to make a proper album together. Oz and Mathias come from opposite ends musically but in classic rock they found communion. With new songs in the works and additional musicians attached, they titled the project Rendezvous. Ultimately, they inked a worldwide deal with German label Pride & Joy Music for a release on March 22nd, 2024. Neon Rider
Neon Rider The story of Argentinian Melodic Rock group NEON RIDER began in the second half of the year 2020, when the two guitarists, bandmates in another group, Hernan Cattaneo & Marcos Nieva Green, decided to put together a new project to create music with a more classic sound that is based on their Hard Rock & AOR roots. When they began composing and recording demos, they realized that they had much more to show thank just being a project and that the obvious and correct thing was to mutate towards an actual band. That’s how, finally, after a couple of years, with a single and EP released both independently and already with some line-up changes NEON RIDER was completed with Bruno Sangari (vocals), Daniel Bravo (bass) and Pablo Ureta drums). Now, they offer their first full-length album called “Destination Unknown” which contains of 11 songs plus one intro, which seeks to take the listener to an “unknown destination”, making him feel like they are traveling to other places and eras. This album also represents a link between the members and their sons and daughters, as the last song of the album, “Riders Of The Night” showcases a children’s choir, with special guests: Valentino Sangari, Sofia Cattaneo, Leandro Guzman Nieva, and Julieta Nieva Rodriguez. Social Disorder SOCIAL DISORDER – the „project“ feat. Lazarus Dream The German hard rock band LAZARUS DREAM with their third album „Imaginary Life“ in the starting blocks! The core team, consisting of multi-instrumentalist/composer Markus Pfeffer (BARNABAS SKY, ex-SCARLETT) and vocalist Carsten Lizard Schulz, (ex-DOMAIN/EVIDENCE ONE) has meanwhile been expanded by drummer Markus Herzog (a.o. DOUBLE CRUSH SYNDROME, CHERIE CURRIE/ex-THE RUNAWAYS). From the more experimental approaches of the previous album „Lifeline“, the trio consciously took distance and 0returns specifically to the melodic hard rock roots of the debut album „Alive“ and puts the focus back more on catchy hooks and choruses, groovy riffs and melodies. On the title track, VANDEN PLAS guitarist Stephan Lill shines with an impressive guest solo (Lill was Markus Pfeffer’s guitar teacher in the late ’80s, by the way). The first single „My Prayer“ is an elegiac standout track that combines clean delay guitars à la PINK FLOYD, edgy riffs and filigree guitar solos of the „eighties shredder“ brand with emotional vocals and bombastic vocal arrangements by Schulz that would also have suited a gospel choir. Other highlights are the AOR opener „The Sweetest Chaos“, the ballad „Beauty Among The Ruins“, the synth-hooked up-tempo rocker „Rebel Again“ and the seven-minute-long closing epic „Empire Of Thorns“. The impressive artwork is the brainchild of the well-known French artist Stan W. Decker (NIGHT RANGER, STRYPER, BLUE OYSTER CULT, among others), mastering was done by Rolf Munkes at Empire Studios/Bensheim. Autumn’s Child Swedish AOR/ Melodic Rock group Autumn’s Child is back with the fifth album ”Tellus Timeline”! This work contains eleven songs in the vein of the previous albums however this time with some songs with a bit harder edge! “I think this is our best album so far”, says singer and founder Mikael Erlandsson. Autumn’s Child have their own unique way to do their music with an intent to have a lot of different styles on each release. “Both me and Mikael are huge Slade and Sweet fans from the 70’s. The track ”Come and get it” is pure glam and was a blast to record”, says co-producer Claes Andreasson. Magnus Rosén, former bass player of Hammerfall, again is heard on “Tellus Timeline”. Some of the new songs like the first single ”Gates of Paradise” are harder and with a Nordic touch by the help of Swedish opera singer Karin Funk. “I have always wanted to do a duet with my old friend Jim Jidhed (solo/Alien) – and now we finally did it!”, adds Mikael, “the song “Juliet” is the Westcoast/ AOR gem on the album where our voices really match each other in a nice way.
